    Traffic info 2025

Information on the temporary traffic regulation regarding the international recreational cycling marathon Istria300 on September 27, 2025, Saturday

    Dear Sir/Madam,

On September 27, 2025, the fifth international recreational road cycling marathon Istria300 will be held on the roads of Istria, which was already one of the largest sporting events in Istria last year. The organizer of the race is Bike Triangle d.o.o. from Pula, whose founders have extensive experience in organizing major sporting events at home and abroad (CRO Race, Ironman Slovenian Istria 70.3, Großglockner Mountain Run, Großglockner Bike Challenge, UCI Gravel Wörthersee). Together, they are developing a cycle-tourism product with the aim of promoting the Istrian County and the Republic of Croatia as a sports and cycle-tourism destination.

The start and finish of this road cycling marathon will be in the city of Poreč, where about 4,000 participants from Croatia and abroad are expected this year. In addition to the race itself, the Istria300 event will feature a four-day program from September 25 to 28, 2025, with numerous activities and events that will attract a large number of visitors.

On the race day, the cyclists will start at 07:00 a.m. from the main square (city market) in Poreč. The marathon concept consists of three different route lengths, all starting at the same time: 135 km, 209 km, and 300 km. Participants can decide on the race day which of the three proposed routes they will ride – at the intersections of the routes – provided they comply with the relevant time limits. Interactive maps of the races are available via the following links:

For the organization of the event, a traffic plan has been developed to ensure the flow of traffic and minimize road disruptions on that day. Due to the complexity of the event and the need to ensure a high level of safety for all road users, individual sections of public roads along the race route will be partially or completely closed on this day. Traffic will be directed according to a special traffic regulation, coordinated by representatives of the Ministry of the Interior together with the organizer’s security service. On most parts of the course, vehicles will be allowed to travel in the same direction as the cyclists or along the race routes themselves. However, traffic will be difficult on some sections, and there will be delays lasting several hours.

In order to inform the general public in time about the special traffic regulation and the use of detour routes, we are attaching a graphic presentation as well as an approximate timetable of the duration of the special traffic regulation. This should help citizens who find themselves on the race route during the traffic regulation period to know how to reach their destination as quickly as possible.

A special focus of the traffic regulation is in the areas of the cities of Poreč, Labin, and Pazin. For each of these areas, a separate graphic showing the closures of individual road sections as well as alternative routes has been created, to ensure that traffic flows as smoothly as possible on that day.

The special traffic regulation will apply in the following timeframes and areas:
