Oprtalj, situated on the hill, which can be reached from the south side coming from Motovun, is considered by many to be one of the most picturesque towns in northern Istria. Oprtalj was formerly a fortress surrounded by defensive walls on which houses were built, among which the former city gates barely emerge. In front of the gates is a huge Venetian loggia with a lapidarium, and next to it, on high ramparts, there is a plateau from which the view extends all the way to the sea.
This photogenic town, tasty delicacies, and top-quality wines of this region will stay in your memory for a long time.
